WHO WE ARE
We are a collective of individuals dedicated to the empowerment of the youth. We do this by teaching community activism through media and through Music Education. We accomplish this through the mechanism of HipHop, a global cultural movement and vessel for change.
HISTORY
2015
Geniushiphop.com was created to combat the over-saturation in mainstream media of Rap music without social consciousness.
The platform has been upgraded multiple times since it’s inception and also features a in depth articles. Geniushiphop.com has been featured on local and national news affiliates.
2016-2018
‘Genius of HipHop’ is created. Community Activism.
Genius Hip Hop creates the ‘Genius of HipHop’ YouTube series to highlight positive artists and use HipHop as a tool for education. Genius Educational Media takes part in collaborative community activism efforts surrounding Police brutality, Net Neutrality and voting rights.
2019
Genius Educational Media is formed
Genius Educational Media is officially recognized as a 501c3 organization. Our efforts now expand into the areas of youth development and digital media.
