YouthGrow Non-Profit and Food Pantry
Mission
We seek to empower the community and inspire learning through our vertical hydroponic & aeroponic gardening projects. Our project will set up an indoor vertical urban garden system that will be able to feed 3,000+ families based on yield calculations. There is a severe lack of quality vegetables and fruits within a suitable distance for many Detroit area residents(Food deserts).
About
YouthGrow is a socially conscious non-profit organization that is a hydroponic/aeroponic organic food producer and youth education organization. We also work as a Food Pantry, an agency that distributes food for home use directly to individuals and families that meet established eligibility requirements.
Community Benefit
YouthGrow provides high quality produce to under-served local communities while also providing work and leadership experience for local youth. These organic produce will be cultivated using advanced hydroponics/aeroponics indoor farming methods; this technique facilitates many socio-economic benefits including: the ability to deal with the increasing global food challenges, teaching key science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts to youth and young adults, management and efficient utilization of natural resources.
